Network Engineer II

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain configure and optimize enterprise network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls wireless technologies and security appliances.
• Design and implement scalable network solutions that support organizational growth and performance.
• Monitor network health troubleshoot complex issues and ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
• Support network security through best practices system hardening backups and disaster recovery planning.
• Plan coordinate and implement approved network upgrades maintenance and change requests.
• Manage monitoring platforms and notification systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Research and evaluate network technologies products and services to support future initiatives.
• Collaborate with vendors contractors IT leadership and cross-functional teams on network projects.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Network Engineers.
• Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation to support critical network operations.

Requirement Skills Knowledge and Expertise

• High School/GED Required
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
• Three (3) years equivalent work experience preferred
• Expert knowledge of various routing/switching protocols
• High level understanding of configuration and deployment of Cisco/Meraki HP Aruba Velocloud SD-WAN and Fortinet devices and software
• Expert knowledge of security standards configuration of network hardware/software
• High level ability to troubleshoot and problem solve complex networking issues
• Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment preferred
• Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment
• A valid unrestricted drivers license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required

Licensure/Certification

• Cisco Networking certification (CCNA or CCNP) or equivalent required
