HAMILTON COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS
Job Posting - Full-Time Network Administrator Position
The Hamilton County Board of Elections is seeking a candidate for the position of Network Administrator. The position performs a variety of tasks including managing the organizations computer networks and ensuring stable and secure connectivity. Key duties include installing and maintaining hardware software troubleshooting monitoring network performance and managing security.
To maintain bipartisan balance of staff at the Board of Elections this position must be filled by a candidate that affiliates with the Republican Party.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and maintain network infrastructure servers hardware and operating systems
- Monitor network traffic performance and logs
- Diagnoses and resolves connectivity problems for end-users and network equipment
- Perform regular backups apply updates manage data recovery and provide technical support to staff
- Protect networks firewalls VPNs APNs security audits and manages user permissions
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
- Strong knowledge of information technology hardware/software and networking functions and topologies
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and applications
- Knowledge of database architecture
- Knowledge of FortiGate firewall products
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work both independently and part of a team
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Be a registered and active voter of the State of Ohio
Recommended:
- Four-year college or university program certificate or four years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Microsoft Windows Server Administrator Certification
- Cisco Certified Network Associate or CompTIA Network Certification
- Basic understanding of the Structured Query Language
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Sit for extended periods of time
- Frequent periods of standing walking stooping kneeling or crouching
- Repetitive movement of hands and fingers (typing and/or writing)
- Occasional election cycle assignments may include working outdoors
- May be required to lift a maximum of thirty pounds
