NASA Human Landing System (HLS) SME

Odyssey is recruiting for a Subject Matter Expert to support NASAs Human Landing System (HLS) Program Office. Help make history and be part of a program providing the launch capability essential for reaching the lunar vicinity and advancing sustained human exploration of deep space!

NASAs Space Launch System Program at Marshall Space Flight Center is responsible for developing and certifying the super heavylift rocket that enables crewed deepspace missions as part of Artemis. The SLS Program Office oversees vehicle design manufacturing testing and performance verification to ensure safe delivery of Orion astronauts and cargo beyond Earth orbit. Key mission areas include integration with Exploration Ground Systems and the Orion Program coordination with the Moon to Mars Program Office and support for upcoming Artemis missions such as Artemis II III and IV.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
• Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives.
• Directs and controls activities for a project having overall responsibility for financial management methods and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met.
• Performs project negotiations and interfaces with senior management.
• Supports strategic program and project reviews and special studies.
• Provides input and recommendations for alternatives or make-or-buy analysis and planning.
• Provides input and recommendations for the development and execution of the business plan process business plan and strategic plans.
• Provides input and recommendations for conferences meetings and program and project reviews.
• Develops handbooks and training courses.
• Provides affordability analysis and planning recommendations.
• Provides input advice and recommendations to Independent Review Teams.
• Reviews project documentation technical reports requirements documents and memoranda to support decision-making.
• Supports program reviews and provides independent assessments.
• Provides management analysis of program and project execution.
• Provides scenario planning.
• Serves as an advisory member of program or project Standing Review Boards (SRB) as applicable in the SRB Handbook.
• Provides mentoring to program and project managers Center and organizational management and technical and scientific personnel as required.
• Provides specialized skills and experiences related to ongoing programmatic activities in order to measure program progress toward prescribed goals as required by any NASA Center.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance.

Education: BA/BS degree.

Years of Experience: 25 years of directly related experience.

Clearance: TS Clearance.

Additional Information

Location: On-site at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Huntsville AL.

Travel: Travel may be required at the Customers request.

Onsite: Telework capabilities for local candidates (percentage of telework allowed will vary based on the Customers discretion).
