We are seeking individuals with outstanding communication and human relations skills proven ability to work effectively with staff a record of success in meeting the challenges of a dynamic comprehensive suburban school district.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BOC/NATA Certification required
• NYS License Athletic Trainer
• Current First Aid/ AED/ CPR Certification-Professional Rescuer
• Bachelors Degree in Athletic Training or other health related fields
• Masters Degree in Athletic Training preferred
• Two years experience in a school setting preferred
• Must meet NYSED Fingerprint requirements

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Must be flexible and be able to work weekends
• Responsible for game coverage and athletic training room
• Responsible for instructing coaches athletes and parents in the area of care and prevention of athletic injuries
• Able to provide first aid CPR and coordinate emergency transportation as necessary
• Able to conduct initial evaluations following an injury and makes decisions regarding management of the injury
• Maintains an inventory and determines the need for athletic training supplies equipment and maintenance services
• Establishes and maintains detailed records on student athletes including incident report forms and prepares reports as required
• Responsible to inform coaches as to whether an injured athlete may resume participation in athletic activities
• Assists in the administration organization and planning of schedules to provide coverage at athletic events
• Follows specific guidelines for the care prevention of athletic injuries including treatment and rehabilitation
• Enforces policies and procedures of the School District
• Works closely with the Director of Health Services Athletic Director and school nursing staff concerning restrictions of injured athletes
• Understands and empathizes with the needs and concerns of others
• Able to perform other job-related duties as assigned

HOURS: Approximately 20 hours per week (Hours will vary by day)
