Summary:
The 712 Music and Dance Teacher provides engaging developmentally appropriate instruction in both music and dance within a virtual learning environment. This position will teach two sections of music and three sections of dance to students in grades 712.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging virtual instruction in music and dance for students in grades 712.
- Develop standards-aligned lessons that meet diverse student needs and learning levels.
- Teach music and dance concepts techniques performance rhythm movement choreography and creative expression.
- Incorporate diverse musical and dance styles traditions history and cultural perspectives.
- Provide opportunities for students to create practice perform and demonstrate learning.
- Adapt instruction to accommodate varying experience levels abilities learning needs and home environments.
- Use virtual tools video demonstrations and digital resources to support learning and engagement.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely meaningful feedback.
- Maintain accurate grades attendance and required documentation.
- Communicate with students and families regarding progress participation and support needs.
- Participate in professional development staff meetings and other school activities as required.
- Analyze and use student data to inform your teaching.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required.
- Background experience or education in music dance performing arts or a related instructional area is preferred.
- Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements. NHA will support you through your alternative certification journey.
