Summary:

The 712 Music and Dance Teacher provides engaging developmentally appropriate instruction in both music and dance within a virtual learning environment. This position will teach two sections of music and three sections of dance to students in grades 712.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging virtual instruction in music and dance for students in grades 712.
  • Develop standards-aligned lessons that meet diverse student needs and learning levels.
  • Teach music and dance concepts techniques performance rhythm movement choreography and creative expression.
  • Incorporate diverse musical and dance styles traditions history and cultural perspectives.
  • Provide opportunities for students to create practice perform and demonstrate learning.
  • Adapt instruction to accommodate varying experience levels abilities learning needs and home environments.
  • Use virtual tools video demonstrations and digital resources to support learning and engagement.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely meaningful feedback.
  • Maintain accurate grades attendance and required documentation.
  • Communicate with students and families regarding progress participation and support needs.
  • Participate in professional development staff meetings and other school activities as required.
  • Analyze and use student data to inform your teaching.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Background experience or education in music dance performing arts or a related instructional area is preferred.
  • Hold a valid teacher license or meet alternative requirements. NHA will support you through your alternative certification journey.
