The Utah State Library Division is seeking a dependable Warehouse Worker to join our central logistics this role you will play a vital behind-the-scenes part in supporting statewide literacy education and information access by managing the physical flow of library materials and state assets. This position operates within a structured facility where teamwork safety and community impact drive our daily success. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that there is an adequate supply of materials available. Orders receives inspects and stores equipment merchandise commodities materials and/or supplies.
  • Conducts regular and/or spot check inventories of merchandise supplies or equipment without a scan gun.
  • Accurately process verify and stage orders using the WOW2 system.
  • Loads and unloads material supplies and/or equipment with a forklift.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Forklift Certification: Documented OSHA-compliant certification to safely operate both Class I/IV Sit-Down Counterbalance and Class II Stand-Up Rider forklifts.
  • Inventory Control: Proven ability to accurately track stock levels perform cycle counts reconcile discrepancies and log inventory data into a warehouse management system.
  • Ordering Processing: Experience picking packing staging and verifying customer orders efficiently against packing slips with a low error rate.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to continuously stand walk bend and safely lift carry and maneuver items weighing up to 75 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software Proficiency: Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Warehouse Organization: A track record of improving spatial layout organizing stock for optimal picking efficiency and maintaining a lean clean workspace.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to independently diagnose and resolve logistical bottlenecks shipping errors or damaged inventory issues on the fly.
  • Self-Motivated Drive: Highly disciplined worker who takes initiative requires minimal direct supervision and actively looks for tasks during downtime.

  • Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment e.g. working around operating machines working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals etc.
  • The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds crouching or crawling in restricted areas defending oneself and/or others against physical attack.
