Job Title: Multilingual Assistant
Reports To: Director of Multilingual Learning
Summary:
The Multilingual Assistant provides support to English language learners in the classroom and other settings. Duties include providing one-on-one assistance with academic tasks translating and interpreting and helping Multilingual students adjust to the school environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one assistance to Multilingual students with academic tasks such as reading writing and math.
Translate and interpret for Multilingual students in the classroom and other settings.
Help Multilingual students adjust to the school environment such as by helping them to make friends and understand the school rules.
Collect data on Multilingual student progress and share this information with the classroom teacher and other relevant stakeholders.
Attend professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices for working with Multilingual students.
Other duties as assigned.
