Job Summary

Position Summary

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a skilled Multicraft Maintenance Technician to support production operations through equipment maintenance troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for diagnosing equipment issues performing corrective and preventive maintenance minimizing downtime and ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of mechanical electrical hydraulic pneumatic and controls troubleshooting skills and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all workplace safety policies environmental regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Troubleshoot production equipment issues and implement timely corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Perform emergency repairs planned maintenance activities and equipment overhauls as needed.
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Support production operations by maintaining equipment required to meet quality and productivity objectives.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical electrical hydraulic pneumatic and control system failures.
  • Make adjustments to automated production equipment robotic systems welding equipment material handling systems and other manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety quality productivity and cost reduction.
  • Maintain current technical knowledge through ongoing training and skill development.
  • Communicate effectively with production quality engineering and leadership teams regarding equipment status repair progress and estimated completion times.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings equipment manuals schematics and maintenance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work order documentation using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Ensure work areas remain clean organized and compliant with workplace standards.
  • Safely operate company equipment tools and maintenance resources.
  • Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Mechatronics Electrical Technology Mechanical Technology or a related technical field preferred.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or Journeyman certification may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience maintaining manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance systems (CMMS) ERP systems or maintenance tracking software is a plus.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and industrial controls.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and automated manufacturing systems preferred.
  • Basic fabrication and welding skills including MIG TIG ARC and spot welding are beneficial.
  • Proficiency with hand tools power tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and maintenance software systems.
  • Strong problem-solving communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime off-shifts weekends or respond to equipment emergencies as business needs require.
