The Division of Student Affairs Health & Well-Being is seeking a highly qualified motivated and well-organized professional to serve as the MSW Internship Program Manager in the SSP/AR 1 classification. This is a temporary full-time (1.0) exempt position reporting to the Direct Practice Supervisors.

Under the general direction of the Direct Practice Supervisors the MSW Internship Program Manager is responsible for the overall administration and day-to-day management of the Health & Well-Being Divisions MSW internship program. The position provides leadership and supervision to the MSW intern cohort and exercises independent judgment in managing program operations addressing programmatic and performance-related matters and ensuring the program operates effectively and in alignment with Division university and Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) requirements. The Manager serves as the primary point of leadership for the internship program and consults with the Direct Practice Supervisors on matters requiring specialized professional guidance or authority outside the scope of the program.

The Manager establishes operational priorities procedures and processes; manages the recruitment selection and placement of MSW interns; manages relationships with Site Hosts including site matching confirming capacity and determining the continuation or discontinuation of placement sites; and oversees program quality assurance and the assessment of program outcomes effectiveness and needs. The Manager provides a minimum of one hour of scheduled individual supervision to each intern each week and facilitates weekly group supervision for the cohort establishes expectations for performance and professional development evaluates intern performance at established checkpoints and holds responsibility for the final review and sign-off of intern evaluations and required MSW hours.

The Manager serves as the primary point of contact for concerns involving interns or Site Hosts; facilitates track determination (micro or macro) with each student; serves as the primary representative and liaison for the program with campus partners and stakeholders; manages professional development programming and coordinates the technology space and resources needed for program operations; and plans and hosts the end-of-year Division showcase highlighting program outcomes student experience program impact employment outcomes and ongoing program needs. The Manager performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program and two years of experience.

Experience providing individual and group supervision to graduate-level students or comparable professional supervisory experience.

Experience in program coordination field education or student affairs.

Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment manage program operations and lead projects to completion.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent placements and competing priorities.

Knowledge of CSWE competencies and field-education requirements.

Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure or license eligibility in the State of California.

Experience managing a social work field-education or internship program in a higher-education or community-based setting.

Familiarity with the CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards and the NASW Code of Ethics.

Experience with program assessment outcomes tracking and continuous improvement.

Experience partnering with campus and community stakeholders to develop and sustain placement sites.

Employment Requirement: Background Check

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

CSU Classification Range 3070-SSP/AR1 12-Grade-0:$7127-$12771

Anticipated hiring range will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
