Main Purpose of Job
Themain purpose of this position is to manage the daily operations maintenance ofschedules and overall personnel needs of the Elementary Department to foster asafe collaborative environment for students staff and families. Reportingclosely to the Chief Educational Programs Officer (CEPO) the position isresponsible for interviewing orienting and evaluating faculty leadingdepartment meetings and implementing professional development. Key academicand operational duties include coordinating student placements monitoringlesson plans overseeing standardized testing and enforcing IEP implementationand data collection. Additionally this role drives the schools masterschedule supports the bilingual education philosophy and language and literacyplanning and policy manages school discipline and safety protocols andmonitors the overall well-being and attendance of both students and staff.
POSITION DUTIES
Thisposition is responsible for the daily operations of the Elementary Departmentthat entails daily coverage subbing the support of the departments needsand the maintenance of daily addition to operating thedepartment this includes serving students teachers staff and include assistance in hiring/orientation of new faculty observation andevaluation of staff the direction of staff/department meetings the planningand implementation of the professional development training and in-serviceevents and the coordination of staff assignments and student placements. Thisposition takes responsibilities in creating and improving the schools masterschedule arranging school functions supporting the bilingual educationphilosophy and language and literacy planning and policy assisting withclassroom management promoting consistent discipline within the schoolenforcing the IEP implementation and data collection supervising state andlocal standardized testing to ensure compliance with established processes andpolicies and monitoring weekly units and lesson plans that include appropriateeducational objectives strategies and activities. This position includesadhering to the schools school safety protocols progressive disciplinaryaction due process as well as monitoring and maintaining student and staffwell-being including attendance and progress reports. This positioncollaborates closely with the Campus Chief Educational Programs Officer (CEPO)and its office as well as with other programs in the school. May be asked toassume other duties as assigned by CEPO.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Masters degree in Education of Deafstudents Education of Deaf students with additional disabilities or SpecialEducation required.

Experience: Threeyears of successful classroom teaching experience with Deaf and Hard of Hearingstudents required. Must be fluent inAmerican Sign Language and written interpersonal and active listening skills required.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledgeof Deaf Community is preferred.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must hold the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Administrator II certification or Supervisors of Instruction Assistant Principals and Principals licensure or be eligible to obtain Supervisors of Instruction Assistant Principals and Principals licensure in the required timeframe.
