Schedule: Full-time with variable morning & afternoon shifts including rotating weekends & on-call holiday coverage rotates between the hospital & outpatient center.

Radiology/Imaging Services unit provides high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging services including wide range of medical imaging procedures including X-rays CT scans MRIs ultrasounds and other imaging techniques to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. Valuing and ensuring patient care patient comfort safety and adherence to imaging protocols are paramount while collaborating with healthcare professionals quality control and the adoption of new technologies while maintaining quality control measures for equipment and processes adhering to strict safety protocols and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards are key functions.

How youll contribute
An MRI Technologistwho excels in this role:

  • Maintains a respectful demeanor to patients family members fellow employees and physicians.
  • Completes annual MRI Safety Training.
  • Positions transfers and properly immobilizes patients as required.
  • Performs MRI Safety screening procedures on all patients before entering the scan room.
  • Includes screening for any metal objects/previous work with metal and surgeries that impact scan.
  • Prepare patient for I.V. Injections (starting heplocks) and injects patients with butterfly.
  • Performs quality control on the MRI unit (Daily and weekly QA).
  • Performs MRI scanning procedures.
  • Performs filming reconstruction of proper images posts processing of MRA images.
  • Maintains professional skills and provides age-specific care to patients of all ages (neonates infants children adolescents adults and geriatrics).
  • Follows safety procedures and guidelines and reports unsafe practices and conditions.
  • Consistently and appropriately follows Universal Precautions.
  • Critiques images.
  • Maintains adequate supplies.
  • Keeps updated on MRI developments through professional journals on the job training and other educational opportunities.
  • Assists in performing first aid CPR and AED.
  • Helps maintain monthly statistics.
  • Maintains adequate supplies.
  • Rotate shifts as needed and rotates to Main campus and off sites as needed.
  • Participates in on-call rotation and adheres to the on-call guidelines.
  • Performs routine procedures done on the PACS.
  • Attends staff meetings when possible.
  • Educates/supervises MRI students.
  • Assists in ACR Accreditation of MRI Scanners.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
  • Performs functions in Electronic Medical Record (EPIC/Radiant).

What were looking for
Applicants should be Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology MRI Technology Nuclear Medicine Technology or Primary Pathway via the ARRT. Additional requirements include:

  • 240 clinical hours associated with MRI education program requirements.
  • ARRT RT (MR) or ARMRIT certification or ARRT RT(R) and MRI Board Certified within 1 year of date of hire.
  • BLS Certification.
