Under the direction of the Director of Radiology and the Medical Director the MRI Technologist is responsible for performing duties directly involving a variety of technical procedures applying to Magnetic Resonance Imaging. This position works at a technical level under limited supervision independently performing MRI procedures. Procedures performed require independent judgment and initiative as well as a comprehensive understanding of MRI safety.
Provide services in the following categories: diagnostic radiology nuclear medicine ultrasound computed tomography interventional radiography MRI bone density and mammography. The department offers services 24 hours a day seven days a week to inpatients outpatients and emergency room patients of all ages. Whereas x-ray procedures constitute the majority of our service we also provide related quality control (including protecting patients and staff from harmful radiation) quality assurance monitoring and evaluation marketing and continuing education of staff and patients. Radiology is comprises of licensed technologists certified and licensed nuclear medicine technologists secretarial staff and licensed radiologists.
Requirements
Formal AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology - Required.
Previous experience in MRI in a hospital setting. - Required
ARRT Registry - Required
MRI Registry - Required
CPR Certified - Required
Venipuncture Certification - Required (Can be obtained within 3 months of hire)
At least 2 recent supervisory references - Required
