Job Summary

Job Title: MRI Technologist

Location: Manhattan NY
Duration: 8 Weeks (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: 8:00 AM 8:00 PM

Compensation
  • Local Rate: $60 $70/hour (based on experience)

  • Travel Rate: $78 $90/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures using advanced MRI equipment. The ideal candidate will apply technical expertise and clinical judgment to ensure accurate imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols

  • Position patients and coils to obtain optimal imaging results

  • Educate patients on procedures ensuring comfort and understanding

  • Review patient safety questionnaires prior to MRI procedures

  • Ensure all images are properly labeled and transmitted to PACS

  • Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and repeat scans if necessary

  • Document and complete studies in the Radiology Information System (RIS)

  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of MRI equipment and exam rooms

  • Monitor and manage supplies and accessories required for procedures

  • Assist physicians during imaging procedures as needed

  • Schedule and track patient exams within the system

  • Adhere to MRI safety standards preventing introduction of ferromagnetic materials

  • Follow infection control policies and safety protocols

  • Report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions promptly

  • Participate in continuing education and departmental meetings

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an AMA/JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program

  • New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology (Required)

  • ARRT MRI Certification (Required)

  • BLS Certification (Required)

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Cross-sectional anatomy

    • MRI physics

    • Patient positioning techniques

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of MRI experience

  • Experience working in a fast-paced clinical or hospital environment
