Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or formal educational equivalent.
- Six (6) months direct patient care related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience interpreting rhythms.
- Certified as a nursing assistant or military corpsman.
- Current BLS.
- At least one (1) year of direct patient care related experience.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
- Works in Telemetry Unit.
- Responsible for monitoring patients on remote telemetry.
- Responsible for interpreting rhythm strips.
- Notifies nursing staff of changes in patient status
- Maintains equipment.
- Must pass the all required competencies.
- Works within the Department of Nursing standards.
- Adheres to UAMS clinical programs policies procedures and standards for patient family centered care.
- Mustcomplete training that is provided that includes the dysrhythmia course and basic life support (BLS).
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Special knowledge abilities and skills:
- Mustcomplete the dysrhythmia course within 90 day evaluation period and maintain competency as a telemetry technician.
- Must haveexcellent communication skills ability to follow oral instructions basic computer skills strong work ethics and accountability.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; and/or visual inspection at distances close to the eyes.
