About the Opportunity
A leading healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated Molecular Imaging Specialist to join its advanced diagnostic services team. This role offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art imaging technologies while contributing to exceptional patient care across both hospital and outpatient clinical settings.
The successful candidate will play a key role in performing specialized diagnostic imaging procedures supporting physicians in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a variety of advanced molecular and functional imaging procedures in accordance with established clinical protocols.
Review physician orders and patient histories to ensure appropriate examination selection and preparation.
Administer approved imaging agents and medications following established safety guidelines.
Prepare patients for procedures explain examination processes and provide compassionate patient care throughout the imaging experience.
Operate sophisticated imaging equipment and related software platforms to acquire and process high-quality diagnostic images.
Conduct equipment quality assurance testing and assist in maintaining optimal system performance.
Collaborate with physicians nurses and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
Maintain accurate patient records and procedural documentation.
Support radiation safety initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Assist with inventory management imaging supplies and department operations.
Participate in accreditation activities quality improvement programs and continuing education initiatives.
Travel occasionally to affiliated clinical locations as required.
Required Qualifications
Certification or eligibility for certification through a recognized imaging credentialing body.
Eligibility to obtain or maintain applicable state licensure.
Strong understanding of diagnostic imaging procedures patient care practices and safety standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel to regional healthcare facilities when required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates or Bachelors degree in Medical Imaging Nuclear Medicine Technology Radiologic Sciences or a related healthcare discipline.
Previous experience in diagnostic imaging molecular imaging or nuclear medicine environments.
Experience working with advanced imaging systems and digital image management platforms.
