Job Summary
Nemours is seeking a Mobility Tech Co-op to join our Nemours Childrens Health team in Wilmington DE.
This position is responsible for: Assist in providing patient care and treatment in accordance with the Division of Nursing Standards. Promotes mobility and safety for all patients on the unit. Supports purposeful rounding and maintains environment to minimize the risk for falls. Participates in turning schedules for patients at risk of pressure injuries.
Essential Functions
1. Assists patients with activities of daily life (bath feed play etc.) and provides other patient care as directed.
2. Assists other staff in examination or treatment procedures including positioning holding and comforting patients.
3. Ensures a clean and safe patient care unit.
4. Students will be able to measure monitor and record a patients vital signs.
5. Accurately relays information from physicians nurses and others.
6. Uses Hospital Information Systems as required for patient care (e.g. documenting vital signs and patient care activities).
7. Students will demonstrate an understanding of body mechanics.
8. Students will demonstrate an understanding of patient positioning and draping.
9. Students will demonstrate an understanding of therapeutic exercises including passive and active range of motion.
10. Students will demonstrate an understanding of techniques in patient transferring.
11. Students will demonstrate an understanding of techniques in assisting with ambulation and performing gait training.
12. Ensures an adequate stock of all necessary equipment and supplies in designated areas at established par levels.
13. Promotes patient safety and participates in activities that adhere to patient safety standards and procedures. Protects. Patient privacy and maintain confidentiality.
14. Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement identifying opportunities to improve services making recommendations and implementing actions ass appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.
15. Attends unit/department meetings regularly.
16. Demonstrates proficiency in the care of patients of all ages; neonates infants toddlers school aged adolescents and adults.
17. Performs any other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager Clinical Operations Leaders Charge Nurse Staff Nurse or Nursing Supervisor.
