Job Summary
Priefert Mfg. is seeking an expert in Mobile HVAC Maintenance for our Earth Moving and Off Road Equipment. Must be able to hit the ground running.
HVAC System Maintenance: Perform advanced maintenance troubleshooting repair and servicing of mobile HVAC systems including air conditioning heating ventilation and climate control equipment.
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex mechanical electrical and refrigerant-related issues using diagnostic tools wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and perform preventive maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability reduce downtime and extend system life.
System Installation and Replacement: Install replace and upgrade HVAC components including compressors condensers evaporators blowers thermostats and control systems.
Electrical Systems: Diagnose and repair electrical components including wiring relays fuses motors sensors switches and electronic controls.
Refrigerant Management: Perform refrigerant recovery evacuation leak detection charging and system performance testing in accordance with applicable regulations.
Mobile Equipment Expertise: Maintain HVAC systems installed in mobile equipment such as service trucks trailers heavy machinery agricultural equipment and other specialized vehicles.
Technical Support: Provide advanced technical guidance troubleshooting assistance and training to maintenance technicians and other personnel.
Equipment Reliability: Identify recurring HVAC failures and recommend modifications repairs or improvements to increase system efficiency and reliability.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities repairs parts used diagnostic findings and equipment service history.
Safety and Compliance: Follow applicable safety procedures environmental regulations and refrigerant-handling requirements when performing maintenance and repairs.
Parts and Inventory: Identify required replacement components verify compatibility and coordinate parts procurement to minimize equipment downtime.
Experience: Extensive hands-on experience maintaining troubleshooting and repairing mobile HVAC systems preferably in industrial commercial vehicle agricultural or heavy-equipment applications.
Technical Knowledge: Expert knowledge of HVAC principles refrigeration cycles airflow heat transfer electrical systems and climate control technologies.
Diagnostic Skills: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair complex HVAC problems using electrical meters pressure gauges temperature instruments and electronic diagnostic equipment.
Refrigeration Expertise: Proficiency in refrigerant recovery evacuation leak testing charging and system performance verification.
Electrical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams control circuits and equipment service manuals.
Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude including the ability to repair or replace compressors motors pumps fans hoses belts and related components.
Certifications: EPA Section 608 certification where applicable. EPA Section 609 certification may be required for servicing motor vehicle air-conditioning systems.
Mobile HVAC Experience: Experience servicing HVAC systems on mobile equipment including vehicle-mounted or machinery-integrated heating and cooling systems.
Problem-Solving: Ability to independently troubleshoot difficult equipment failures determine root causes and implement effective repairs.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of electrical safety refrigerant handling personal protective equipment and safe maintenance practices.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical information clearly document repairs and provide guidance to other maintenance personnel.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in industrial and outdoor environments access equipment in confined or elevated locations and lift or handle HVAC components as required by the position.
Tools and Equipment: Proficiency in using HVAC service tools diagnostic equipment hand tools and power tools.
Work Schedule: Ability to work assigned shifts respond to equipment breakdowns and perform overtime or emergency repairs when required.
