Position Summary:
Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients receiving treatments and examination according to established procedures.
- Orients instructs and trains assigned personnel.
- Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment. Accurately records history and perform basic triage procedures per policy including accurate vitals.
- Retrieves initial basic condition of patients and reports to appropriate practitioner.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to patients comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication.
- Assists physicians with examinations procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Maintains a safe comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families during their visit.
- Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports records statistics etc.
- Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and well maintained equipment.
- Inspects area daily for compliance with policies procedures regulations and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur.
- Schedules all outside patient appointments per physician order and relays accurately to patients.
- Take calls from hospitals/ nursing homes and relays appropriate information to practitioner in a timely
- Assures test results are received and relayed to patient in a timely manner.
- Completes medical orientation checklist.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs current literature in-service meetings and workshops.
- Performs radiographic examinations as licensed by certification.
- Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service or clinical supervisor for major malfunctions.
- Directs patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains rooms.
- Collaborate with the patient physician and other care team members as part of a team based approach to overall patient care.
- Follows policies procedures and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education:
None specified; however must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year experience in medical office setting
Licensure Requirement:
Successful completion of a state approved educational program in at least one Radiology modality. Must complete and pass state testing requirements to achieve
X-ray operator in an MD office (MXRT) licensure in the state of Tennessee for applicable modalities. Considered limited scope. CPR required. Must hold CCMA or equivalent MA certification.
