We are seeking experienced Missile Crew Foreman to oversee and manage the missile crews in Missoula MT and surrounding this role you will lead and coordinate missile crews to safely and efficiently complete underground utility construction projects. This role oversees daily field operations ensures compliance with project specifications and safety standards and provides leadership while supporting drilling locating and production activities as needed.

The Role

  • Lead and supervise missile crews to ensure work is completed safely efficiently and according to project specifications
  • Plan daily activities assign crew tasks and coordinate equipment materials and resources to meet production goals
  • Review construction plans staking sheets and utility locates and verify utilities are properly identified before work begins
  • Operate and oversee pneumatic missile/impact moling equipment for underground conduit and telecommunications installations
  • Coordinate excavation potholing entry and exit pits and missile operations to ensure proper installation and utility protection
  • Monitor missile alignment depth and progress to ensure conduit is installed accurately and according to specifications
  • Troubleshoot field equipment and operational issues and communicate with Construction Managers Inspectors and other project personnel
  • Ensure daily production reports as-builts and required project documentation are completed accurately
  • Maintain and inspect vehicles equipment and tools and coordinate repairs as needed
  • Train and mentor crew members while monitoring productivity quality and safe work practices
  • Maintain jobsite safety traffic control housekeeping and surface restoration
  • Ensure compliance with company policies OSHA DOT and 811 safe digging requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in underground construction missile/impact moling horizontal directional drilling or other drilling/boring operations
  • Previous experience leading and supervising construction drilling boring or utility crews
  • Experience operating or overseeing missile pneumatic boring HDD or other underground drilling equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret utility prints staking sheets construction drawings and project plans
  • Knowledge of underground utilities utility locating safe digging practices and 811 requirements
  • Strong leadership communication customer service problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to identify field conditions resolve operational issues and make sound decisions in the field
  • Ability to travel and work overtime weekends and outside normal business hours as needed
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
  • High level of energy motivation attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in moderate to loud noise environments
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs as needed
  • Ability to work in tight spaces and perform tasks requiring bending reaching twisting climbing and maneuvering on uneven terrain
  • Ability to safely operate handle and navigate construction equipment tools and safety equipment
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following company and regulatory safety requirements
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a drivers license is required if the role involves driving
  • Class A CDL Required
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR Background Check Drug Screen)
