Mount Prospect Academy (MPA) is a growing nonprofit organization dedicated to helping adolescents develop the skills they need to succeed in life. Since 2003 weve provided innovative academic and mental health services for youth who thrive best in supportive non-traditional environments.
Ashuelot Valley Academy is a 220-day non-public special education school serving students in grades 512. Our trauma-informed relationship-driven approach empowers students academically socially and emotionally.
Position Overview
As a Middle School Classroom Teacher you will play a key role in supporting both the academic progress and overall well-being of your students. Youll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create a safe engaging and structured learning environment.
What Youll Do
- Deliver engaging project-based instruction aligned with IEP goals and core curriculum
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
- Track and report student progress grades and IEP outcomes
- Collaborate with academic and clinical staff to support student success
- Implement classroom management and behavioral strategies as needed
- Supervise and guide Teaching Assistants
- Participate in team meetings trainings and curriculum development
- Maintain documentation including lesson plans reports and assessments

Qualifications:
- Active New Hampshire K8 Teacher Certification (REQUIRED)
- Bachelors degree (required)
- At least 21 years of age
- Preferred: Background in Education (English Math Science etc.)
- Preferred: Experience working with youth especially those with emotional or behavioral needs
- Experience working with children or adolescents in any setting (school coaching childcare etc.)
