Job Summary
Reports to: Principal Assistant Principal or Designee
Term of Employment: 10 Month part-time (Contracted)
Qualifications:
- Experience working with middle schoolaged students preferred.
- Knowledge of adolescent development and social-emotional learning.
- Strong communication relationship-building and behavior management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and school-based teams.
Nature of Work:
- School-based position in a middle school setting
- Includes one-on-one student meetings small-group interventions and classroom
support
- Follows the school calendar and daily bell schedule
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Build strong trusting relationships with middle school students through consistent
check-ins mentoring and goal-setting.
- Support students with organization time management study skills and self-advocacy
appropriate for middle school expectations.
- Monitor attendance academic performance and behavior data to identify students in
need of Tier 2 or Tier 3 supports.
- Provide targeted interventions for students struggling with attendance behavior
motivation or academic engagement.
- Collaborate with teachers counselors administrators and support staff to develop
and implement individualized student support plans.
- Support students during transitions (elementary to middle school grade-level
changes schedule changes).
- Communicate regularly with families to share strategies celebrate progress and
address concerns.
- Reinforce school-wide expectations PBIS practices and positive behavior supports.
- Participate in MTSS meetings attendance team meetings and student support team
meetings.
- Assist with conflict resolution problem-solving and social skills development.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student interventions progress and
communication.
- Serve as a consistent adult advocate and positive role model for students.

Physical Requirements:
- This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force.
- Work regularly requires speaking or hearing frequently requires walking and sitting and occasionally requires standing using hands for manual dexterity or to handle or feel stooping kneeling crouching or crawling reaching with hands and arms and lifting.
- Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office light traffic).
