Middle School Building Substitute Teacher

Minnehaha Academy seeking a Building Substitute Teacher to work every school day of 2026-2027 in our Middle School. The Middle School Building Substitute will serve the entire Middle School.

The hours are 8:00-3:30. This is an hourly position with 7 hours of paid time daily and an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.

Purpose:To maintain a positive and well-managed learning environment and to provide strong and stable instruction for students during teacher absences.

Qualifications

• College degree educational background strongly preferred

• Previous teaching experience in an elementary setting strongly preferred

• Teaching License preferred not mandatory

• Ability to integrate the Christian faith into all aspects of the classroom

Key Responsibilities

• Serve in various capacities within the Middle School daily. Provide instructional continuity during teacher absences implementing teacher lesson plans to ensure continued learning and growth

• Maintain a safe positive and productive learning environment

• Assist with non-instructional duties such as morning drop-off lunchroom supervision recess monitoring and dismissal as needed

• Provide clear feedback for the returning teacher regarding student progress and any behavioral notes.

• Technology proficiency including Google

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00 per hour to be determined by our Human Resource Director based on education and experience.
