  • The North Plainfield School District is seeking a dedicated energetic and student-centered individual to serve as the Assistant Middle School Soccer Coach for the upcoming season.

    North Plainfield is a diverse and vibrant community committed to developing the whole child through academics athletics and extracurricular opportunities. Our athletic programs emphasize skill development sportsmanship teamwork leadership and character. We are seeking a coach who is passionate about supporting middle school student-athletes and fostering a positive inclusive environment where all students can grow and succeed.

    Qualifications and Responsibilities

    • Previous soccer coaching and/or competitive playing experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of soccer fundamentals skill development strategies and rules of the game.
    • Ability to teach proper techniques while developing student-athletes of varying skill levels.
    • Assist the Head Coach in planning and implementing practices game strategies and team activities.
    • Commitment to building a positive inclusive and competitive team environment.
    • Strong leadership communication organization and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor for middle school student-athletes.
    • Emphasis on sportsmanship teamwork discipline accountability and academic success.
    • Foster a team culture that reflects the districts core values of Caring Appreciation Respect and Determination (C.A.R.D.).
    • Collaborate effectively with the Head Coach athletic department school staff and families.
    • Responsible for supervising student-athletes during practices games travel and team activities.
    • Assist with equipment management uniform distribution and other program logistics as assigned.
    • Ensure compliance with all district policies athletic department procedures league regulations and New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association requirements.
    • Must follow all district and athletic department policies and procedures.
    • CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
    • New Jersey teaching certificate or substitute certificate required.

    Compensation

    Compensation will be in accordance with the applicable negotiated agreement.
