Job Summary

We areseekinga dedicated and enthusiastic coach to lead the Waverlymiddle schoolvolleyball program for this upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport a commitment to fostering student-athlete development and the ability to create a positive and inclusive team environment. This seasonal position requires effective communication skills strong leadership abilities and a focus on skill development and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Coachvolleyballat themiddle/high school level(MHSAA)

Must be able to effectivelyteach and coachstudent athletes.

Plan organize and conduct daily practice sessions focused on skill development teamwork and sportsmanship.

Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competitions.

Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance providing constructive feedback to athletes.

Ability to instill enforce and provide fair and firm direction.

Foster a positive team culture that encourages respect collaboration and personal growth among student-athletes.

Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote a cohesive athletic program.

Attend all scheduled games and events supporting the team andrepresentingWaverly Middle School positively.

Communicate regularly with athletes parents and school schedules game details and team expectations

Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and competitions.

Coordinate teambuilding/bonding activities.

Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills and knowledge of the sport.

Willingto attend summer camps.

Regular and on-time attendance isrequired.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of a high school diploma.

Experience coachingvolleyballathletes at themiddle/high school level.

Strong knowledge ofvolleyball rulesstrategiesand techniques.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Current First Aid/CPR Certificationand CPI (de-escalation) certificate or willingness to obtain.

Must have attended MHSAA Cap Program or willingness to attend.

KnowledgeSkillsand Abilities:

Ability toestablishand maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education todemonstratethe character traits of respect responsibility honesty and caring when interacting with staff students and community members.
