Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Middle Market Commercial Underwriter to join a growing team. This position plays a critical role in expanding commercial product lines and ensuring the success of underwriting operations.

• Salary Range: $70000 - $140000 annually

• Evaluate and underwrite middle market commercial insurance risks with a focus on workers compensation and other commercial lines.
• Analyze and interpret state and NCCI workers compensation manuals guidelines rating elements and competitive landscapes.
• Develop and maintain loss-sensitive rating programs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure underwriting decisions align with company goals and risk appetite.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with agents brokers and other stakeholders.
• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel and other tools to analyze data and make informed underwriting decisions.
• Stay updated on industry trends regulations and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

• Bachelors degree in finance marketing business or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of workers compensation or commercial line underwriting experience.
• Strong preference for candidates with commercial underwriting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of state and NCCI workers compensation manuals guidelines and rating elements.
• Experience with loss-sensitive rating programs.
• Professional certifications such as CPCU ARM CIC or similar are highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills required.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills both verbal and written.
• Strong critical thinking problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
