Geospatial Analyst Solutions Directorate part of the National Solutions Business Area is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mid-Level UI/UX Engineer for the Maru Maru Program delivers mission-critical modern software solutions across our customers enterprise using AgileDevSecOps and cloud-native methodologies.

As a UI/UX Engineer you will design and develop intuitive user-centered interfaces for mission-critical applications. This role bridges design and engineering focusing on creating seamless user experiences while delivering production-ready front-end solutions.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in user experience design front-end development and usability principles with the ability to translate complex technical workflows into clean efficient and accessible interfaces. This individual will work closely with backend engineers product owners and end users to improve usability performance and overall user satisfaction.

• Active TS/SCI with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph examination

Essential Responsibilities

• UI/UX Design & Implementation: Design and develop intuitive responsive user interfaces for web-based applications
• User Experience Optimization: Translate complex workflows into simple efficient user experiences that improve usability and adoption
• Front-End Development: Build and maintain front-end components using modern frameworks (e.g. React Angular or similar)
• Usability & Accessibility: Ensure applications meet usability standards and accessibility best practices
• Design Systems: Contribute to and maintain consistent design patterns components and style guides
• User Research & Feedback: Gather and incorporate user feedback to continuously improve interface design and functionality
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with backend engineers product teams and stakeholders to align UI/UX with system capabilities
• Performance Optimization: Improve front-end performance responsiveness and scalability

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field with48 years of relevant experience or Masters degree with26 years of relevant experience
• Strong experience with front-end technologies (JavaScript HTML CSS)
• Experience with modern UI frameworks (React Angular etc.)
• Demonstrated experience designing user-centered interfaces for complex applications
• Understanding of UX principles usability and interaction design
• Experience working in Linux-based environments
• Ability to translate user needs into functional design solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with design tools (Figma Sketch Adobe XD)
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Grafana or similar)
• Familiarity with REST APIs and backend integration
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and front-end deployment workflows
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Experience designing and developing intuitive user interfaces for data-driven GEOINT applications.
