This position is full time during first shift.

In this role you will:

• Lead the development standardization and continuous improvement of microbiology training programs
• Create maintain and update training materials competency resources and job aids for microbiology benches and specialized work areas
• Establish consistent training expectations progression criteria and competency standards across the department
• Coordinate training assignments and partner with qualified staff to support employee development
• Monitor trainee progress assess competency and identify opportunities for additional instruction or remediation
• Serve as a subject matter expert and training resource for microbiology team members and leadership
• Support onboarding cross-training and ongoing professional development initiatives
• Perform high complexity testing and contribute to laboratory operations as needed
• Champion safety compliance quality control and regulatory requirements

All you need is:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology; or Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biological or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent
• 3 years of laboratory experience performing high complexity testing in a microbiology laboratory
• Demonstrated expertise in microbiology workflows procedures and quality standards
• Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively train mentor and provide constructive feedback to others
• Strong reading writing analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment including but not limited to: telephones computers automated analyzers centrifuges microscopes manual and automated pipettes and audible alarms

• Previous experience training mentoring onboarding or leading laboratory staff
• Experience developing training materials competency assessments or standard operating procedures
• Advanced microbiology bench competency across multiple specialty areas
