Job Summary
In this position ....
MH supervisor for MPL is responsible for coaching safety quality and productivity by following standardized work processes. Key duties include monitoring andon occurrences and acting as a secondary first responder verifying safe and smooth line operations through Process Confirmation and supporting continuous improvement by coaching problem resolution at the lowest level. The role involves communication recognition and building capabilities among Team Leaders and Team Members to foster a productive work environment. Administrative tasks related to supervisory responsibilities and documentation are also part of the position.
Responsibilities
What youll do...
As a Material Handling Supervisor you are a critical responsibility including managing daily functions for the facility and department ensuring proper material flow from receiving to delivery of finished products and allocating resources effectively to cover material handling duties. The Supervisor supports the Ford Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing practices and leads unionized hourly personnel. The role also involves ensuring the flawless introduction of new parts to production via proactive planning and cross-functional communication implementing the Engineering Change Process and identifying and correcting data gaps in the Common Material Management addition synchronizing transportation of end items through the transportation network to our customers flawlessly without interruptions.

Driving Operational Excellence: Lead and direct a team of employees that consistently makes high-quality products and meets or exceeds production targets. You will take ownership of team performance addressing shortcomings proactively and celebrating successes.
Strategic Focus & Problem Solving: Prioritize critical tasks and effectively allocate human resources to maximize efficiency. You will apply for a Bias for Action promptly and decisively addressing safety and quality issues to prevent larger problems. This includes identifying and analyzing problems developing and implementing effective solutions making timely and well-informed decisions and adapting to changing circumstances.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and insights to strike down downtime and quality defects driving quantifiable improvements in efficiency and quality. This includes meticulously tracking and reporting employee time and attendance transforming raw data into actionable intelligence for strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance: Maintain a relentless focus on identifying and eliminating inefficiencies improving processes and driving innovation to enhance productivity quality and safety. You will be uncompromisingly committed to quality implementing and maintaining rigorous standards and relentlessly pursuing excellence to eliminate defects and ensure exceptional product quality.
Conflict Resolution & Interpersonal Relationships: Proactively address and mediate conflicts fairly and effectively facilitating mutually acceptable solutions. This requires active listening empathy and the ability to de-escalate tense situations. You will build and maintain strong positive working relationships with your team and all partners including suppliers and union representatives through transparent communication and a willingness to listen fostering a psychologically safe environment.
Accountability & Fairness: Champion accountability managing both your own performance and that of the hourly workforce regarding processes and standards. You will ensure accountability play fair and meet conflict with decisive action.
Collaboration: Actively listen to and value the perspectives of all team members and other department stakeholders. You will be a partner with team members the union and management to continuously improve everything.
Qualifications

- Education: High School Diploma
- Experience:
- Ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety quality and throughput
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal teambuilding and communication skills
Even better you may have...
- Preferred candidates hold a bachelors degree in fields such as industrial operations Transportation & Logistics Supply Chain Management & Information Systems Applied Engineering Science Packaging Engineering or Business Management.
- Desired experience includes body shop stamping subassembly manufacturing assembly or machining.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles safety and MP&L experience constraint management principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) are also preferred.

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72480-$121440.
