What Youll Do

  • Sets up and operates standard and specialized machine shop tools and equipment both manual and CNC controlled. Fabricates reworks and/or repairs jigs fixtures gages tools and components by reading and comprehending complex blueprints.
  • Performs one-of-a-kind or repetitive tasks involving machining assembly finishing and grinding of various products to close tolerances.
  • Must be able to check dimensional requirements and specifications using hand tools gages functional gages and other prescribed measuring equipment.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • This position is a journeyman machinist minimum of six years current journeyman machinist experience in a production or inspection environment.
  • Position will be subject to shift work assignment and handling of special materials.
  • May be required to work in Radiological Controlled Areas and/or Beryllium Areas.
  • In addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e. High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Notes

Requires a Q clearance: however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
