Job Summary/Description:

KXII 12 the weather leader in the Texoma region is looking to add a weekend meteorologist to the markets most experienced First Alert weather team. The right candidate will have a combination of broadcast digital and technological expertise to tell weather stories on a variety of platforms. This meteorologist will anchor our weekend evening newscasts as well as serve as the primary fill-in both AM & PM weekdays. This is a full-time position based out of our studios in Sherman Texas located between Dallas and Oklahoma City in the heart of Tornado Alley.

Duties/Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

Ë Serve as primary weather anchor for the stations weekend newscasts
Ë Fill in on the air in weekday AM & PM newscasts as needed (including holidays)
Ë Serve as CTV anchor/producer for 30-minute First Alert Weather Extra show three nights/week
Ë Serve as primary talent for digital & social video forecasts and live broadcasts
Ë Design weather graphics for the department with an emphasis on lifestyle forecasting
Ë Produce weather graphics and information to regularly update our website apps and social media platforms
Ë Occasionally report live on weather conditions
Ë Occasionally report on weather-related events and topics

Qualifications/Requirements:

Ë Bachelors degree or higher in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences
Ë Some on-air experience either professionally or in college required (*please send link to demo reel for consideration)
Ë Expertise in weather graphics software
Ë Expertise in digital forecasting and social media
