Job Summary
The Metallurgical Engineering Co-op will be responsible for various short/long term projects to gather and analyze data required for efficient design/processing of forgings for seamless rolled rings and open and closed die forgings.
Essential Functions
- Participate as a multidisciplinary engineering team member
- Assist with the design development integration and testing of projects
- Collect organize analyze and document data specifications and spreadsheets
- Participate in the quality assurance and quality control process of projects
- Provide technical support to the assigned team or department
- Complete a cost improvement project
- Comply with PCC Code of Conduct requirements
Required Experience
- Excellent mathematical analytical problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to work independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with PC programs including Microsoft Office
- Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels in a cross-functional environment
Preferred Experience
- Completion of an introductory materials course
- Experience working with and researching on metal alloys
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required
- Actively enrolled in a four-year engineering degree program with second-year standing or higher
- Mechanical Manufacturing Materials Aerospace or related engineering degrees preferred
Additional Requirements
- This position requires 20 hours per week minimum onsite (hours may be slightly modified to accommodate for school schedule)
- Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher
