MEP Fire Protection Engineering Manager

AECOM is seeking an experienced innovative and forward-thinking MEP/Fire Protection Engineering Manager to help grow and lead our building engineering practice in Boston. What Youll Do:

• Lead and grow AECOMs building engineering practice in Boston balancing technical excellence team development client service and business performance.

• Develop and execute a strategic plan to expand local MEP capabilities and build an integrated multidisciplinary engineering team.

• Drive major project pursuits both stand-alone MEP/FP work and as part of larger multi-discipline teams.
• Act as technical leader and quality reviewer across a range of project sizes and complexities. creating an environment where talented engineers can do their best work.
• Serve as design manager on complex projects with significant engineering scope working closely with project managers to deliver high quality documents.
• Lead interdisciplinary coordination/quality reviews and ensure engineering standards are met.

• Coach mentor and develop engineers at all career stages helping them achieve technical professional and leadership goals.

• Manage forecasting resource planning and staff performance including goal-setting and annual reviews for mechanical department. Assist the electrical department manager to do the same.
• Represent AECOM to clients participate in interviews and help craft winning proposals.

• Provide technical vision and thought leadership for mechanical engineering across the Boston practice.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10 years of mechanical engineering experience on multi-disciplinary projects.
• 2 years of HVAC or mechanical team leadership experience.
• PE license in Mechanical Engineering with the ability to obtain licensure in additional U.S. states.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 15 years of experience including at least two in a leadership role.
• Affinity for client service and business development.
• Proven ability to build positive working relationships and lead through influence and inclusivity.
• Experience with aviation transportation and/or federal sector projects.
• Strong background in sustainable and high-performance building design.
• Familiarity with central utility plant systems.
