Mentor Teacher (Q Comp)
Two Year Commitment
Qualifications
- Current MN Teaching licensure required; District tenure preferred
- Willing to commit to a two year position
- Proficiency in communicating instructional strategies and skills to other teachers
- Knowledge of current researchbased best practice that improves student learning
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates skills in organization leadership communication and collaboration
- Demonstrates proficiency in technology usage department/grade level requirements & procedures grading supplies and needs
Responsibilities
Year 1
- Attends orientation/lunch for mentors and mentees
- Plan on Tuesday August 19h 2025 10:45am - 12:45pm
- Introduce and orient the new teacher to the school/district/department/grade level throughout year
- Meets with mentee weekly and maintains a log
- Assist and review lesson planning (standards/district curriculum) on a regular basis
- Observes mentee in their professional role a minimum of two times and provides feedback (once per semester)
- Arranges for the mentee to observe another colleague in their professional role
- Attends mentormentee meetings as determined by site (up to three times/year)
Year 2
- Meets with mentee monthly and maintains a log
- Observes mentee in their professional role a minimum of two times and provides feedback(once per semester)
- Arranges for the mentee to observe another colleague in their professional role
Stipend: Year 1 - $500; Year 2 - $250
