Mental Health Therapist Intern

Provides internship-level outreach or community based outpatient mental health and/or substance abuse services to individuals groups families and couples. Employs a range of techniques based on experiential relationship building dialogue communication and behavior change that is designed to improve the mental health of the person served or to improve group JOB FUNCTIONSTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below. Conducts psychosocial assessments under masters level supervision and transcribes or dictates relevant information for person served individual couple family and/or group therapies and crisis interventions using various treatment modalities as outlined in state/local contract and/or state licensing for providing outreach or community based outpatient mental health and/or substance abuse services to individuals groups families and in mental health consultation and collaboration with stakeholders and treatment team individualized treatment under the supervision of masters level clinician/supervisor working in coordination with interdisciplinary teams which may or may include other social work organizations legal entities healthcare facilities school and/or other community health and coordinates discharge plan based on treatment. Supports individual/family in connection to community resources that would be beneficial to persons identified and/or aftercare regularly scheduled face-to-face meetings with the person served and caretaker (if applicable) in order to monitor progress discuss treatment strategies and to provide supportive individualized services under the oversight of a licensed current adequate medical record documentation in the electronic medical record of the person being regular staff meetings clinical meetings training and one-on-one sessions with direct supervisor in support of the provision of quality clinical court hearings as directed by other related duties and activities as RESPONSIBILITIESNoneMinimum Knowledge and Skills required for the JobThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or abilities required to perform the job. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
