As a Mental Health Technician at Devereux Childrens Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. We offer an environment that is supportive educational and clinically focused. Devereux Childrens Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) provides programs and services for children and adolescents who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis within a safe and compassionate inpatient environment. Located in Malvern PA this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a therapeutic rapport with adolescents while assisting supporting and instructing individuals in self-help coping skills and positive behavioral interventions outlined in a clinical treatment plan.

Every day as a Mental Health Technician (MHT) you will

• Ensure the individuals you are working with are safe.
• Engage in daily activities such as Recreational and Social Activities that enhance social skill development.
• Address and redirect inappropriate behavior of individuals you are working with.
• Implement treatment plan goals and objectives.

• New MHT hires will receive a sign on bonus of $1000 for FT and $500 for PT which will be paid out over their first 6 months of employment.

  • 7am-3:30pm
  • 3pm-11:30pm
  • 11pm-7:30am
  • Part time- all shifts
  • must be available every other weekend and able to attend orietation for 1 week Mon-Fri from 9am-5pm

Devereux Pennsylvania Childrens Services (DPACS) center serves children adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders intellectual and developmental disabilities behavioral emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF) acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP) assessment services community-based mental health services community-based employment training and social skills training and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities autism spectrum disorders concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma and two years direct care experience or a Bachelors degree from an accredited college with at least twelve credit hours in a human services discipline to include but not limited to psychology sociology social work education pastoral counseling political science heath recreation criminal justice counseling.

Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking sitting and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.
