Job Summary
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the Head Coachs principal advisor and strategic partner in all aspects of program development and administration.
- Assist in establishing and communicating the vision mission standards and long-term objectives of the program.
- Lead program initiatives that enhance competitive success player experience and organizational effectiveness.
- Assist with the development and implementation of annual strategic plans and measurable program goals.
- Help evaluate and improve operational systems team processes and organizational efficiencies.
- Establish and reinforce a culture of excellence accountability discipline integrity servant leadership and competitive character.
- Develop and oversee leadership initiatives for team captains and emerging leaders.
- Mentor student-athletes in their personal academic athletic and spiritual development.
- Promote positive team chemistry and an environment of mutual respect and inclusion.
- Address team culture concerns and assist with conflict resolution among student-athletes.
- Support retention efforts through proactive relationship building and meaningful mentorship.
- Be on call and dedicate time to meet with players one-on-one or in small groups to develop meaningful mentorship and discipleship relationships. Additionally assist student-athletes in navigating personal challenges and connect to campus resources when appropriate.
- Collaborate with academic support personnel to monitor student-athlete academic progress and success.
- Partner with sports medicine strength and conditioning and performance staff to coordinate holistic development plans.
- Foster development opportunities that prepare student-athletes for success beyond graduation.
- Plan coordinate and direct all events showcases tournaments and campus visits.
- Assist in directing the overall recruiting strategy and roster management process.
- Identify and recruit academically qualified high-character student-athletes who align with program values.
- Build and maintain relationships with high school club junior college and recruiting-network coaches.
- Coordinate recruiting evaluations and assist in scholarship and roster recommendations.
- Assist with budget planning and resource allocation.
- Oversee designated program operations including travel logistics equipment management and apparel distribution.
- Direct camp operations fundraising efforts alumni engagement activities and community outreach initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with institutional conference and governing body policies and regulations.
- Maintains administrative control over the annual operational lifecycle and communication architecture within the program.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May assist in the supervision of student workers graduate assistants team managers interns etc
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
- Bachelors degree.
- 3 Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience.
- Strong knowledge of offensive lacrosse concepts systems and strategy.
- Demonstrated recruiting experience and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work evenings weekends and travel as required.
- Masters degree.
- Current first aid CPR and AED certification or the ability to obtain certification within a specified period after hire.
ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear well-articulated information.
- Ability to understand speak and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business and community customers and associates.

- Intuitively able to reason analyze information and events and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
- Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Occasionally required to stand walk and climb stairs to move about the building.
- Handle materials reach overhead kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
- may require lifting and carrying athletic equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The coach works in a variety of environments including office settings athletic facilities outdoor fields and during extensive team travel. Responsibilities involve prolonged periods of standing walking demonstrating athletic skills and supervising student-athletes during practices and competitions. The coach must be able to work in varying weather conditions and maintain focus and decision-making abilities in high-pressure competitive environments.
If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position the use of ones personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid drivers license an acceptable DMV record LU Driving Approval and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employees position.

Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications experience education skills and certifications along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used as appropriate in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure.
The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits including health insurance retirement plans and tuition assistance.
