Position Summary: Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA) has created a state-of-the-art experiential based program located in Malvern PA designed to offer hands-on learning and exploration of healthcare fields through student exposure to a variety of skills that exist within the industry. At MedWorks students will receive personalized experience utilizing the latest developments and best practices to spark interest in a potential healthcare pathway and help them succeed in their future careers.
The Coordinator will report to the Director of MedWorks and will collaborate with other program staff and teachers to provide opportunities for our K-12 students. Throughout the state of Pennsylvania CCA is developing multiple pathways for our students and is seeking a candidate with passion vision and energy to help take this program to the highest level.
Specific Responsibilities:
Facilitate in-person and virtual activities equitably across grade levels.
Ensure proper set-up and organization; oversee cleanliness of lab spaces.
Provide guidance and support to students ensuring comprehension and safe practices.
Engage students using a strength-based and independent learning style.
Work with students individually or in small groups to accomplish projects.
Implement modifications and accommodations for students with IEPs.
Assist with the set-up and operation of best practice simulations classroom patient scenarios.
Maintain supply inventory through use of par levels.
Manage event registrations and assist in procuring related resources.
Assist with responses to families teachers and students as needed.
Ensure preventative maintenance checks and documentation relating to medical equipment.
Troubleshoot lab issues to minimize downtime and ensure functionality and refinement.
Coordinate with external vendors for repairs installations and obtain training when needed.
Create and maintain a culture of respect for lab equipment; cross train as needed.
Provide informative guided tours of the lab for current and prospective CCA families.
Assist in developing procedural guidelines.
Actively co-create a culture that is committed to being at the leading edge of K-12 education.
Competencies: The ideal candidate will understand basic principles of health science lab safety medical terminology and a desire to integrate that knowledge in an activity-based environment to provide experiential experiences for students.
Deep interest in emerging technology (drones 3D printing robotics thermal transfer devices)
Medical terminology and high comfort level in a clinical setting

Work Environment: This position is an in-office role at CCAs Malvern Family Service Center. The work environment will be based out of the lab to conduct in-person events as well as to connect virtually with students from the lab through livestream.
Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to lift squat sit bend and stand for long periods of time.

Travel: Infrequent. The Coordinator will be scheduled to travel to other CCA sites and community locations during work hours as needed. Travel will be pre-planned and the Coordinator will have access to a company vehicle. Travel may be required to support and participate in CCA events such as career expos etc.
Required Education and Experience:
A.S. or B.S. in a health or STEM major
One or more years of work history or volunteer in a healthcare setting
Familiarity with technology found in medical offices and/or hospitals
Not required but preferred; ANY of the following:
Certification or licensure in the healthcare industry
One year of direct patient care in the past five years
One year of prior K-12 teaching experience
Experience in cross training skill competencies orientations or the field of education is beneficial.
Basic facility upkeep or experience with life safety and environment of care compliance.
Understanding of the current healthcare delivery system.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Valid PA Drivers License
Appropriate automobile insurance coverage
Required background clearance in good standing
Must be able to commute to a Family ServiceCenter regardless ofcommutecomplexity.
Candidates must reside within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Other Duties: The Coordinator must be flexible to meet the needs of this growing program.
