Job title: Medical/Surgical/eICU Supervisor

Schedule: 80 hours per pay period; Monday - Friday - 8:00am to 4:30pm

Weekend Requirement: No weekends

Holiday Requirement: Paid holidays

Position Summary:

The Medical/Surgical/eICU Supervisor supports daily departmental operations clinical excellence and staff development while assisting with direct patient care as collaboration with the Director of Medical/Surgical/eICU this role helps oversee staff orientation education competency management quality improvement initiatives and policy compliance to ensure safe high-quality patient care. This position also supports Swing Bed Program coordination and regulatory compliance activities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care support and assists staff as needed to ensure safe high-quality patient care delivery
• Demonstrates strong clinical judgment and the ability to respond decisively and provide leadership during emergency situations
• Assists with orientation onboarding and training of new department staff
• Supports policy procedure and competency management to ensure regulatory compliance and staff readiness
• Researches and promotes evidence-based practices to support clinical excellence and patient outcomes
• Assists with annual staff evaluations and ongoing performance feedback processes
• Collaborates with the Department Director on day-to-day departmental operations and workflow management
• Partners with leadership to support staff education training and competency development initiatives
• Participates in quality improvement activities including data collection and performance improvement projects
• Assists with oversight of the Swing Bed Program including referral management MDS coordination and compliance monitoring

Position Requirements:

• Two-year degree in nursing required. Four-year degree preferred.
• Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire.
• ACLS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
• 3 years of clinical Nursing experience required.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

• Intermediate proficiency with computers is required.
• Excellent clinical skills and problem-solving skills required
• Ability to plan organize and prioritize effectively with staff patients and public.
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to have continuous oral and written communication with patients co-workers and supervisors is essential.
