Job Summary

This position is responsible for processing retrieving releasing and managing/scanning patient health information.

  • Full-Time/Benefits Eligible
  • Monday - Friday - 8 hours per day
  • Columbus OH (hybrid role)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Retrieving and processing incoming faxes in the fax inbox
  • Retrieving and processing incoming mail
  • Scanning and indexing patient documents into the patients electronic health record (EHR)
  • Assigning release of information (ROI) requests to members of the team accurately and appropriately
  • Retrieving patient information and releasing it via fax mail or in person to patients or non-billable entities upon receiving a valid request.
  • Retrieving patient information and releasing it to our copy service for billable accounts upon receiving a valid request.
  • Answering tracking and making calls to COPCP offices patients our copy service and third parties regarding releases and patient portal issues.
  • Creating PDFs of medical records for reference upon request.
  • Entering data into the patients EHR record accurately.
  • Keeping excel logs of needed data.
  • Reaching and maintaining productivity goals set forth by management.
  • Maintaining protecting and distributing PHI according to federal and state regulations.
  • Other duties as set forth by management.

Education Licensures & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in a hospital or medical office setting is preferred.
