Job Summary

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collects lab samples performs venipunctures and conducts ECGs to support diagnostic procedures
  • Takes and records vital signs prepares patients for exams and facilitates clinical procedures to ensure quality patient care
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records ensuring compliance with confidentiality and healthcare regulations
  • Supports reception and check-out areas by scheduling appointments verifying insurance information and updating patient records
  • Ensures student immunization compliance by reviewing medical documentation and updating records accordingly
  • Contributes to a collaborative healthcare environment by coordinating with medical staff and optimizing operational efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of clinical procedures such as venipunctures ECGs and vital sign measurements
  • Knowledge of medical recordkeeping practices confidentiality regulations and healthcare documentation
  • Skill in collecting lab samples performing diagnostic procedures and preparing patients for exams
  • Skill in managing reception tasks scheduling appointments and verifying patient insurance information
  • Ability to maintain compliance with student immunization requirements and update records accordingly
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare staff to enhance patient care and operational efficiency

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Diploma/Certificate in Medical Assisting
  • 1 year of relevant experience

Job Level Overview

Operations Administrative Service or Technical Support Level 2 - An intermediate level role with working foundational knowledge and skills to perform routine and occasionally non-routine tasks. Tasks may require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. May provide assistance to entry level staff.

Preferred Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience in a primary care or clinical office setting
Strong phlebotomy skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
