Location:
Atlanta GA. Atlanta-based attorneys will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days remote after an initial 30-day onboarding period and successful integration with the team. Exceptional candidates outside Atlanta may work 100% remotely after an initial 30 to 60-day training period requiring 3 to 4 days per week in the Atlanta office. Remote attorneys should expect 1 to 2 Atlanta trips per month plus case-related travel for depositions. Required travel and lodging are covered.
Note:
Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia and have 7 years of civil litigation experience a medical malpractice or complex personal injury background and demonstrated ability to independently take and defend depositions. Strong substantive motion practice sophisticated case management experience and a genuine interest in mastering complex medical issues are also important.

Job Description
- Serve initially as second chair on complex medical malpractice matters while working closely with senior trial counsel
- Manage a sophisticated caseload involving significant medical factual and damages issues
- Take and defend depositions independently including depositions involving experts and key witnesses
- Draft and argue substantive motions and manage discovery case strategy and litigation deadlines
- Work closely with medical professionals and nurse consultants to understand complex Labor & Delivery medicine
- Develop case themes evaluate liability and damages and prepare matters strategically for resolution or trial
- Transition into first-chair responsibility on assigned cases as competency and case readiness are demonstrated
- Continue supporting senior trial counsel as second chair on select high-value matters
- Travel as needed for depositions case preparation and trial-related responsibilities
Qualifications
- Georgia Bar admission in good standing required
- 7 years of civil litigation experience
- Medical malpractice or complex personal injury experience required
- Proven ability to independently take and defend depositions
- Strong substantive motion practice and independent caseload management experience
- Genuine interest in learning sophisticated medical concepts and applying them to litigation
- Plaintiff-side medical malpractice experience strongly preferred
- First-chair or second-chair trial experience preferred
- Strong candidates from solo practice or in-house backgrounds are encouraged if they have substantial hands-on litigation experience
