Medical Laboratory Technician - PRN

Prepares performs and records testing procedures in accordance with established criteria as assigned with any or all the sections of the Clinical Laboratory.

Job Duties:

• Follow the laboratorys procedures for specimen handling and processing test analyses reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the coordinator.
• Participate in Laboratory Quality program. Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
• Perform tasks at an acceptable pace to ensure the prompt reporting of accurate patient results. Communicates the status of pending work to the on-coming shift.

Requirements:

• Associates degree of applied science in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science.

Preferred Requirements:

• Certification as MLT (AMT) MLS (ASCP) CLT (NCA) or equivalent preferred.
