Position Summary
As a Medical Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for performing and supporting laboratory testing activities throughout all phases of the testing process including pre-analytical analytical and post-analytical procedures. You will help ensure the accuracy reliability and timely reporting of laboratory results while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Essential Responsibilities
- Receive process and verify patient specimens
- Ensure proper specimen labeling handling storage and preparation
- Perform laboratory testing according to established procedures
- Analyze and document quality control results
- Maintain clean and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
- Coordinate equipment service and repairs as needed
- Monitor test performance and ensure accurate result reporting
- Communicate critical laboratory results according to established protocols
- Assist providers clients and patients with laboratory-related questions
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities
- Support daily laboratory operations to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional patient service
Qualifications
Required:
- Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology Medical Laboratory Science or related laboratory field; or equivalent education and training meeting applicable regulatory requirements
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree in a science-related field
- Previous clinical laboratory experience
Schedule
This is a part-time position working Monday through Friday late afternoons into the evenings.
