Job Summary
Vernon Memorial Healthcare is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist/technologist to join our Laboratory Services team. This position functions as a Generalist demonstrating full competency across laboratory departments and performing a broad scope of testing procedures for patients of all ages.

Position Responsibilities
- Perform and report a variety of laboratory analyses from multiple specimen sources.
- Function independently as a Generalist across laboratory departments.
- Maintain accuracy quality and timeliness of test results.
- Assist with laboratory quality improvement projects.
- Participate in operational support activities to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.
- Adhere to all laboratory policies procedures and regulatory requirements.
Education & Certifications
- Education:Doctoral Masters or bachelors degree in a chemical biological clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; or have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
- Certification:ASCP certification preferred; CPR certification required
- Experience:Minimum3 years of relevant laboratory experiencestrongly preferred
- Skills:Strong analytical skills high attention to detail and the ability to work independently

Hours Wage & Benefits
- Hours:
- 7 days on / 7 days off
- Primarily: Wednesday Thursday Friday Monday Tuesday: 8:00 PM 7:00 AM Saturday and Sunday: 6:00 PM 6:30 AM
- Rotating holidays required
