Summary of Job Duties:
This Positions schedule is Monday Thru Friday 10:30 am to 7:00pm
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences Medical Technology or an ASCP approved discipline.
- -Minimum 2 years of experience in a Clinical Laboratory
- -ASCP certification or equivalent
Additional Information:
Job Requirements:
- Sends out specimens to referral laboratories according to hospital and laboratory policies and in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Enters results from referral laboratories into the laboratory information system. Assists clients with ordering the correct reference tests and performs research into potential new referral laboratories.
- Consults with pathologists and other experts as needed for reference test requests.
- Assists with inventory needs.
- Process add-on tests answers phone calls concerning results fax reports collect specimens and order tests.
- The MLS II is responsible for calling critical results to licensed personnel in a timely manner.
- This position is responsible for coordinating incoming calls to the laboratory.
- This position is responsible for making sure all necessary forms or reports are received by requesting providers.
- Perform other duties as needed.
