About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medical Lab Technologist for a 13-week contract opportunity in Pagosa Springs Colorado. This role supports weekend night laboratory coverage in a Critical Access Hospital setting and requires a confident lab generalist who can work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory testing across core lab departments.

• Support hematology chemistry microbiology blood bank urinalysis coagulation and serology testing.

• Analyze verify and report accurate laboratory results including critical values.

• Prioritize testing and workflow during weekend night shifts.

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing as needed.

• Operate maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.

• Complete quality control calibrations maintenance and corrective actions.

• Document and report results using Cerner.

• Communicate clearly with Emergency Department providers nursing staff and lab leadership.

Requirements

• ASCP MLS/MT or AMT certification required.

• BLS/BCLS certification required.

• Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field required.

• Minimum 5 years of recent hospital laboratory experience strongly preferred.

• Strong recent generalist experience required.

• Independent night shift or weekend shift experience required.

• Critical Access Hospital or rural hospital experience strongly preferred.

• QuidelOrtho Vitros 7600 experience required.

• Cerner experience required.

• Must be comfortable working independently after orientation.
