Job Summary
Simple Laboratories is searching for a Full-time Medical Lab Tech for our on-site downtown Chicago hospital location to perform lab tests in Chemistry Hematology Immunology/Serology Clinical Microscopy and Microbiology. The ideal candidate has worked within a hospital environment and can work both independently and collaboratively for optimization of results.
Schedule: 2nd Shift
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Medical lab Technician /Technologist are responsible for accurately processing analyzing and reporting laboratory results with limited supervision while maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Must understand quality control monitoring computer applications troubleshooting when necessary.
- Follow the laboratorys established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratorys established acceptable levels of performance.
- Perform a variety of routine and special laboratory procedures as authorized by the Manager or Director including rotation through at least three (3) areas of the Clinical Lab: Hematology Chemistry Coagulation Urinalysis Immunology/Serology and Microbiology.
- Operate laboratory equipment and instruments; record data and maintain equipment.
- Adhere to the laboratorys quality control policies document all quality control activities instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
- Use universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from bio-hazardous materials including blood-borne pathogens.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology or Chemistry. MLS MLT license / certificate ASCP/AMT.
- Minimum of one (1) year clinical laboratory experience.
