The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical health physics services including serving as the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for various hospitals in the region.

The ideal candidate will be quick to learn an excellent communicator and a collaborative team player.

This role requires effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Testing mammographic radiographic ultrasound and other diagnostic medical equipment.
• Provide radiation shielding surveys to estimate lead thickness
• Conduct evaluations of lead content in personnel protective equipment (lead aprons) for medical staff
• Provide radiation safety consulting services. Including performing quarterly audits and attending radiation safety committee meetings.
• Travel independently between client sites to provide on-site support and address any radiation-related questions or concerns from customers.
• Assist with regulatory compliance and coordination with radiation safety teams and radiology directors.
• Qualify for MQSA physics testing within 3 months of hire
• Operating within a team of other physicists to address the medical health physics needs of several healthcare sites.
  

Qualifications

• Masters degree or higher in Imaging Medical or Health Physics or any equivalent from an accredited college or university.
• On a pathway to obtain ABR ABSNM ABMP or CHP certifications.
• At least 2 years of experience testing diagnostic imaging equipment.
