Job Summary

Practice Biller

  • Full-time permanent role; competitive benefits offered (health vision dental 3 weeks PTO 9 paid holidays matching 401k etc.)
  • Monday-Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm
  • $18.00-$22.00/hour
  • Position works within a medical corporate office handling billing for a pain management practice with 3 locations
RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Review and prepare electronic and paper insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monitor and stay current with commercial insurance Medicare and Medicaid billing and medical policies and guidelines
  • Verify claim accuracy including patient demographics insurance information provider information and supporting documentation
  • Stay current with applicable CPT and ICD10 coding as related to pain management E&Ms hospital SNF and urine drug screen billing
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Work with Collectors to resolve denials respond promptly to requests for billing corrections
  • Consult with the Director Lead team members and appropriate resources to solve billing issues
  • Maintain applicable billing logs as requested by the Director
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA Medicare Medicaid and commercial payer regulations
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned by the Director
REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of current experience within the last three years in a comparable job (medical billing coding collections claims revenue cycle management AR AP etc.)
  • Internet email Excel Word and data entry skills required
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations; maintain strict confidentiality of patient and client information
  • Ability to work effectively and independently and with other team members
  • Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of medical/surgical terminology
  • Knowledge of commercial payer and Federal payer guidelines regulations and procedures
  • Experience with EHR and practice management systems
