Monday - FridayLocation: Mobile Medical Van covering multiple sites across New York CitySalary: $42000Position Overview:Medical assistants are embedded in Primary Care Clinics to provide on-site nursing services under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing Primary Care and theDeputy/ Director of Nursing Duties & Responsibilities:The essential duties of the Medical Assistant include but are not limited to the following activities:Responsible for obtaining vital signs including pain screen and BMIPerform procedures including but not limited to EKGs Hearing and Vision tests Blood Glucose providers with examinations and chaperoningPerform phlebotomy lab specimen and CLIA Waive testing processingPrepare and organize supplies in examination rooms. This includes preparingexamination table ensuring that supplies are maintained in an organized manner in cabinets and ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are readily available for practitioners useConducts template screenings on all patients (depression screening sexual health alcohol drug tobacco screeningsParticipates in weekly clinical meetings with medical staff and with shelter casemanagement & administrative staffTravel to cover locations as necessary for coverageOther duties as assignedQualifications:Medical Assistant CertificationWorking with homeless individuals preferredMust have excellent oral and listening skillsMust have the ability to interface with clients as well as all levels of staffKnowledge Microsoft Office Word and Excel preferredElectronic medical record experience preferredProject Renewal is an equal opportunity employer.
